Starbucks has always been an innovative organization. It is not just another coffee shop, Starbucks is a great place to hold business meetings too. Recently Starbucks announced introduction of wireless charging pods for smart phones in selected locations.
Phones have become smarter by the day but unfortunately the battery technology hasn’t kept up! And increased use of mobile apps means that the phones need to charged every now and then, sometimes multiple times in a single day. It is no surprise that “Phone charging” is now among the top 10 stress-giving factors. Thankfully, a new wireless charging technology is helping in alleviating this stress. Starbucks by introducing wireless charging pods, is not only eliminating this stress, it’s also giving their customers a cool reason to linger on and buy another cup of coffee.
Starbucks has always been come up with the creative ideas and embracing latest technologies and this time again they are setting a trend, which we will see in other restaurants and public places soon. Starbucks was the pioneer of starting Wi-Fi zones in public places, which now we can see virtually everywhere.
Here’s what Adam Brotman, chief digital officer at Starbucks said “From Wi-Fi and the in-store Starbucks Digital Network to mobile payment and digital music downloads, we have always tried to anticipate our customers’ needs early in the adoption curve and provide a world-class solution. We are thrilled to offer our customers that next level of convenience with Power mat wireless charging. Rather than hunting around for an available power outlet, they can seamlessly charge their device while enjoying their favorite food or beverage offering right in our stores.”
Duracell and Starbucks have united to give their clients a better experience and have placed Duracell power mats in major Starbucks stores like Boston and San Jose. They will be advancing this technology to other major stores in the San Francisco Area.
